A Hairy Situation

Well I am think on getting a hair cut. The issue is that I really don't know what to do with my hair and I don't want to look like everyone else in school. You know me and you know how I am, well some of you do, so think in something that suits my personality.
I like how most of the new emo-ish, but happy bands are hair styled, but I don't know if that would suit my head form. I have a very long shaped head and a big forehead that I always try to hide. XP

I might upload a picture soon so that you guys can see how my current hair is.

Concerning the Midnight Sun Draft

Stephenie Meyer's site was updated yesterday revealing her thoughts on the recently illegal release of a draft from Stephenie's work on Midnight Sun.
She says: "I have a good idea of how the leak happened as there were very few copies of Midnight Sun that left my possession and each was unique. Due to little changes I made to the manuscript at different times, I can tell when each left my possession and to whom it was given. The manuscript that was illegally distributed on the Internet was given to trusted individuals for a good purpose. I have no comment beyond that as I believe that there was no malicious intent with the initial distribution."
Does this mean that she knows who is responsible for the leak to happen?
She later states: "I did not want my readers to experience Midnight Sun before it was completed, edited and published. I think it is important for everybody to understand that what happened was a huge violation of my rights as an author, not to mention me as a human being."
I am on her side for this, whoever released the draft was really insensitive. She says that she does not want the readers to read this draft version.
Her reasons why: "It was only an incomplete draft; the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes."
Some of her final words are: "...to end the confusion, I've decided to make the draft available here. This way, my readers don't have to feel they have to make a sacrifice to stay honest. I hope this fragment gives you further insight into Edward's head and adds a new dimension to the Twilight story. That's what inspired me to write it in the first place."

The Pearl, by John Steinbeck

This entry is mostly to help my classmates spend less money and time. On our English class today we got assigned the book titled The Pearl. Being the internet "freak" that I am, as soon as I got home I looked it up using a couple of my resources and my "Google Knowledge". I'm still not fully satisfied that being in 12th grade we are still reading a book that's barely 100 pages in length, but I guess that's just my case because I'm used to read books with 300 pages or something near the 500. XD I don't want to go on to long about it since this is mostly irrelevant to most people out there so I'll stop now.

Back to School

It's that time of year again and school starts again...
So far everything has been ok, though not the way it should. Today when I arrived at school, at 7:15 AM, surprise surprise there wasn't still any itinerary for the classes. So for today we just spent most of the day doing nothing... :{
It wasn't that bad, but I guess it could have been more fun. I'm not even sure if I'll write anything else in here, but I might edit in some more stuff about today in this post.

Must Start Reading Eclipse!!!!

I know I'm probably the only Twilight-reader in the world that is not reading Breaking Dawn now, but that's what I get for starting reading the series this July... :P Anyway the good part is that when I go to buy Breaking Dawn I won't have to wait on the huge line!!! XD

New Moon was a really good read and it kept a good beat after Twilight. I loved the Bella x Jacob relationship, but when he turned well I wasn't so glad about his actions... Could I say that he was on PMS? XP

The Volturi part of the book was really good. I loved Stephenie's way of describing Volterra and it was so colorful. (In my imagination anyway. :D) Aro is definitely my favorite human killing vampire so far. I'm not so sure about his description, but his character is fascinating. I love all of his quirks and in someway he reminds me of Dubledore. (Could Aro be gay like Dumbledore?)
I'm also getting my hopes up on the possibility of Bella turning into a vampire. I'm pretty sure it will not be after the graduation as Bella would like and probably Stephenie would like to save it for the last book, but I've heard rumors that there might be something related to a weeding in Eclipse.

I'm really looking forward to continuing the series and see what happens in the messed up brain of Bella.

August 1st: A great Day for both Harry Potter and Twilight fans!

Today is a great day for both Harry Potter and Twilight fans. First of Scholastic has revealed a great ton of information that the Tales of Beedle the Bard will be released on December 4th!

According to the Scholastic: "The stories are accompanied by delightful pen-and-ink illustrations by Ms. Rowling herself, featuring a still-life frontispiece for each one. Professor Dumbledore’s commentary—apparently written some eighteen months before his death—reveals not just his vast knowledge of Wizarding lore, but also more of his personal qualities: his sense of humor, his courage, his pride in his abilities, and his hard-won wisdom. Names familiar from the Harry Potter novels sprinkle the pages, including Aberforth Dumbledore, Lucius Malfoy and his forebears, and Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington (or “Nearly Headless Nick”), as well as other professors at Hogwarts and the past owners of the Elder Wand. Dumbledore tells us of incidents unique to the Wizarding world, like hilariously troubled theatrical productions at Hogwarts or the dangers of having a “hairy heart.” But he also reveals aspects of the Wizarding world that his Muggle readers might find all too familiar, like censorship, intolerance, and questions about the deepest mysteries in life."

It goes on to say: "This purchase also represents another very important form of giving: From every sale of this book, Scholastic will give its net proceeds to The Children’s High Level Group, a charity cofounded in 2005 by J. K. Rowling and Emma Nicholson MEP to make life better for vulnerable children."

The Collector’s Edition ($100 USD) will include the following:
• All five fairy tales from the original The Tales of Beedle the Bard
• Outer case disguised as a wizarding textbook from the Hogwarts library
• Exclusive reproduction of J.K. Rowling’s handwritten introduction
• 10 new illustrations by J.K. Rowling not included in the Standard Edition or the original handcrafted edition
• Velvet bag embroidered with J.K. Rowling’s signature
• Metal skull, corners, and clasp
• Replica gemstones
• Emerald ribbon

The Standard Edition ($7.59 USD) will have:
• All five fairy tales from the original The Tales of Beedle the Bard
• A new introduction by J.K. Rowling

The HBP Trailer is here! And my blog to!

The trailer of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Since this is also my opening post I guess I'll introduce myself first... My name is Victor, but I am mostly known around the web as Vicener. (Hence the name of the blog.) I live in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. It's a little piece of heaven, or hell sometimes, located in the the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic and west of the Virgin Islands. You can learn more about the island here. (Thanks to Wikipedia!) As you might or might not have noticed I am a fan of the Harry Potter series. I started reading the book a little bit before Order of the Phoenix was released and since I've followed the series. Recently I got a bit more into the fandom and I've started listening to some Wizard Rock. I don't own a huge wrock collection, but I manage with what I listen on Myspace and on podcasts. One of my favorite wrock bands is the Weasel King. So as I get more into it I find out about this podcast dedicated to wrock, WZRD. I start listening and I decied to visit their Myspace. Well, it wasn't always as organized as it is now... So I decided to help the girls out. (Girls = Jamie and Amy, though they are both older than me I keep refering to them as girls...) So after coming up with a new style for the Myspace page they ask me if I could do something for their website, so I did something. XP Just go to the page and tell me what you think.

So enought talking about myself, well atleast for now, lets talk about the Harry Potter trailer! :D I am just amazed at the level of darkness and creepynes that the directors managed to put into the trailer. I love the actor they chose for Tom he is really talented and somehow reminds me of the kid from the Omen. I loved how they materialized the vials of memories, they look so delicate and yet so cool. One thing that bugs me a bit is how Dubledore's office keeps revealing "sectret areas" that are supposed to be there from the start, but I guess that not even the directors knew that that certain things would keep appearing. The trailer wants you know more of the story, even though you've already read it. XD All in all I loved the trailer and waiting for it was worth it. I hope you enjoyed it and well... I guess this is it for today's entry. I'll come up with more stuff to write soon, I hope... XP
